Tomiwa Oloruntoba is one of HEWS FOUNDATION beneficiaries from LASUTH under its health intervention scheme for indigent Nigerians. She was discharged from the hospital on 15th August 2012 after 8months of stay. Through a special concession granted by common entrance examination board, she was able to sit for her common entrance examination which she passed to junior secondary school. Unfortunately, she was unable to resume with her mates due to the inability of her mother to raise the requisite funds to cover her tuition and other fees. Sometime in September, her mother called us at HEWS Foundation office requesting for financial assistance with Tomiwa’s school fees.
Based on Tomiwa’s positive disposition towards school, the absence of fatherly care and her mother’s financial incapacitation. Tomiwa was granted an education scholarship of sponsorship to university level which is in line with our goal of “helping poor people with pressing needs and get good education”.
